I am aware there are issues with multiplayer matches starting and then soft-locking. I am rolling out an update that should help mitigate the issue. I believe the issue occurs when you are queued and matched against a player who has gone AFK and put the app in the background when the game starts.

I'll put out a small update that hopefully prevents or at least minimizes the issue - but a bigger fix will come later that totally prevents this from happening.
